Antique Melayir rugs are among a group of the best made in Iran along with Senneh and Sarug-Feraghan, and their colors and designs are among the most prominent. Starting from a rounded blue flower, the rhombus-shaped medallion and rounded edges and the hangings, on a dark blue background, surrounded by flowering branches, leaves and flowers forming a naturist lattice. The corners with a geometric profile and decoration of branches and colorful leaves in green, blue, orange and ecru in a perfect realization. Noteworthy is the border, with a dark blue background and chained branches that create cartridges, geometrically shaped with flowers inside. The whole is powerful and delicate at the same time.
