FROM SAMPATI, SANTOSH & KANTA, MANPURA MACHERI, RAJASTHAN
This rug belongs to a collection of three rugs. Its three creators, Sampati, Santosh and Kanta decided to make each one their own but at the same time they would be connected. Each rug is a presentation of their personalities, full of color and joy, each one different, but with a common link. They are characterized by starting with small and regular lines and expanding more and more until they reach an apotheosis of color and celebration.
Sampati, Santosh and Kanta are three men between the ages of 30 and 34 from Manpura Macheri, Rajasthan. Sometimes they work on the same loom and other times each one his own. They take care of their children together and prepare food for them as well. They are such good friends that in their village they are known as "The Triplets." His designs, like his life, are full of energy, laughter and dedication. The work on this rug took a year and a half from the beginning of the color and design combination to the completion of weaving.
