Of the carpets woven in Tabriz, in the central zone of modern Iran, considered as workshop carpets, the Halili are considered one of the finest and best made. The classic design of a central polybulated medallion and decorated in its interior, by a smaller one, with scrolls, and samovar hangings. The large corner pieces with a pale blue background, with arabesques of flowers, leaves, branches and samovars, all in a soft color of ocher, yellow and pale blue. Same as those used in the medallion. The border has five grooves that are decorated with plant motifs, the main one being alternated leaves. The set is delicate and reflects high performance, due to its extremely fine knotting.
