This rug has a classic central medallion with angular edges typical of this production, with a tile-colored background and a rounded flower in ecru. Around it, plant motifs and four corners with a compartmentalized ecru background, with flowers and branches. The border is not very wide and is decorated by the Herati motif of strong medallions accented by the use of the color of palmettes and flowers, on a dark blue background. Both "Serapi" and Heriz rugs tend to have strong, accented medallion designs through the use of color Where other antique Persian rugs would use a curved shape, antique Heriz rugs will apply a series of angular twists and right angle twists treble.
